1st Morden Scout Group

The cub section at the 1st Morden is run by 3 adults, of course there is an Akela, we have a Bagheera and a helper called Chilll. We have approx 20 cubs (boys and girls).We run an active varied program with equal amounts of badge work, games, fun activities, days out and camps.

We meet on a Monday night, we alway meet during half terms as well, although we have a break during the summer holidays instead.

This year we are concentrating on the Challenge Bagdes, if a Cub gains all of the Challenges they can be awarded the Chief Scouts Silver award which is the highest award in the Cub Section, this year we have completed the My Promise Challenge and the Outdoors Challenge, during the April - July term we are completing the Global Challenge and hope to complete the My Community Challenge and Creative Challenge in the remainder of the year.

In April 15 Cubs took part in the Group Camp, they did loads of activities, took part in a traditional Scout campfire run by Maggy Pooley and Brian Bartaby and did a Balloon release on the Sunday during the scouts own (this was part of the My Promise Challenge requirements).

We are planning a couple of days out this term and the beginning of the easter term but as yet we are undecided where we shall go, if there are any 1st Morden cubs out there reading this and have some ideas, let Akela know on a pack night.
